Ministry of Sound, the world’s leading music dance brand, is set to expand its growing international club presence via a licensing deal in Egypt. The licensees are Hurghada’s Papa’s Beach Club and Liquid Lounge, owned by Paul Evans. The two venues will be renamed ‘The Beach’ and ‘The Bar’, under the Ministry of Sound Red Sea umbrella. The re-branded venues are set to open their doors with two huge New Year’s parties on the 31st Dec 2005.
Paul Evans of Papa’s Beach says: “Egypt is constantly expanding as a world-wide touristic destination, and working together with an energetic and dynamic company like Ministry Of Sound can only help drive this expansion forward. We can't wait to get started!”
Ministry of Sound in London is equally as excited about the opportunity. Lucy Salisbury, Global Head of Licensing commented: “Ministry of Sound in Egypt is a great opportunity. We have fantastic brand recognition with locals and the young Europeans who holiday in Hurghada, and we know these venues will be hugely successful in the beautiful and exciting resort. The world’s leading club brand is now working with Paul Evans and his dedicated and professional team to make these Egypt’s hottest new night spots.”
Future plans with Paul Evans include expansion into the rest of Egypt, and the brand is also looking at deals involving Dubai, Las Vegas and the Far East.
The launch of the Ministry of Sound venues will also be supported by a nationwide UK competition for a holiday for 4 to coincide with the New Year party. The prize includes 4 return flights and a villa for a week in Hurghada on the Red Sea.
Ministry of Sound, the world’s most famous club, opened its doors in London in 1991. It quickly started releasing music played at the club and is now Europe’s biggest independent record company. The group has successfully expanded into a wide range of lifestyle ventures – including starting the UK’s fastest growing consumer electronics brand – and launch credible lines in fashion, mobiles, media and more.
Papas Hrg opened their first venue in 1998, followed 2 years later by Papas 2. The Papas Beach Club was the next venture, opened in 2001, providing night club entertainment on the beach. Most recently Liquid Lounge opened as a funky chill out bar.
